The Netherlands and Flanders will jointly be the guest of honor at the Leipzig Book Fair in 2024. Already in 2022, the multifaceted campaign presenting Dutch-language literature in Germany is being launched. For example, the literature podcast "Kopje koffie" presents a wealth of new publications from the Netherlands and Flanders.
Over the next two years, interdisciplinary projects and participation in nationwide festivals will introduce a new generation of Dutch and Flemish writers, artists and creatives to the German audience. The program will focus on formats that go beyond mere book presentations, address current issues, and cross borders. Exchange with performing and visual arts, the creative industries and film is planned, with major Dutch, Flemish and German cultural partners being involved in the programming. The Dutch Literature Foundation / Nederlands Letterenfonds in Amsterdam, Flanders Literature in Antwerp and the Dutch Embassy and Flanders Representation in Berlin are responsible for the realization of the guest of honor project.
