On the occasion of its upcoming 40th birthday, the Berlin Brandenburgische Wohnungsbaugenossenschaft / Housing Cooperative has commissioned Berlin artists to create an 800 sqm roof painting on the new residential quarter "WuhleBlick" in Berlin-Marzahn. After its completion, the painting will be viewable virtually via QR code as well as on Google Maps.

In the new 8-story building of the residential quarter "WuhleBlick" in Cecilienstraße, 70 apartments with south-facing balconies will be built on a total of 4,250 m² of living space, as well as a daycare center with 642 m² of space for 85 children. The basic rent for the apartments is 11.00 to 12.50 €/m², and almost all the apartments have already been let.

For the artists of the Berlin creative agency GRACO, who have been commissioned with the art work, to design not only a wall of a building but to transform an entire roof into a monumental painting has been a fulfilling artistic challenge: "Our idea in developing the motif led us to a result that expresses pure joie de vivre."

Berlin Brandenburgische Wohnungsbaugenossenschaft was founded on January 1, 1982, originally named Arbeiterwohnungsbaugenossenschaft (AWG) "Berliner Handel."
