Stories and Voices from Europe to Central Asia
September to December 2022
For 30 years, 13 countries from Europe to Central Asia have maintained diplomatic relations with Germany. The 13 Horizons cultural programme pays tribute to what has been achieved together as well as cherishing prospects for the future.
From Europe to Central Asia, the picture unfolds of a multifaceted modernity shaped by centuries-old cultural traditions. The series of events will present a mosaic of cultural impressions from 10 September in Berlin: The contributions of the 13 partners provide insight into the dynamic developments that shape their societies and highlight potentials for the future. The film programme shows rural childhoods, women striving for self-determination, heroes who preserve personal integrity in the midst of systemic injustice and love that breaks collective taboos. In addition to the film series and an exhibition, you can expect concerts with programmes ranging from jazz to contemporary works and classical music. Culinary discoveries are also part of the programme.
The following countries are taking part in the cultural programme in Berlin: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Slovenia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan.
