KGB Art Week

37 exhibitions presenting 200 artists in 33 galleries all over Berlin

September 2-11, 2022

37 exhibitions in 33 galleries present over 200 participating artists offer insights into Berlin's extraordinary art scene. The Kommunale Galerien Berlin – the association of Berlin’s public municipal art galleries - present the KGB Art Week for the ninth time.

The diverse exhibition program not only makes it possible to experience various art genres but is also an expression of the artistic diversity based in Berlin. Bicycle tours (KGB Tours), workshops for children and young people (KGB Young) and concerts (KGB Sounds) complement the program, which is free of charge for all participants.

For decades, the Kommunale Galerien Berlin have been places for the promotion of art and artists, for active participation and free expression of opinion, and for the examination of cultural, political and (art-)historical issues. They promote cultural and art education for people of all ages and actively contribute to networking, especially between the independent scene and the institutionalized art business. Locally anchored in Berlin's 12 districts, the municipal galleries operate independently of the art market and show works that deal, among other things, with the respective neighborhoods.
