The group exhibition Nimmersatt? Imagining Society without Growth will take place at three separate locations in Münster: LWL-Museum für Kunst und Kultur, Kunsthalle Münster and Westfälischer Kunstverein. Using artistic approaches, visions and com-mentaries, it takes the disruptive moment described above as a starting point with which to propose new forms of action in a post-growth society. To this end, different artworks will be grouped together to contextualise how the myths of progress and the well-established systems of western civilisation can be deconstructed, how our de-pendence on growth can be reduced – within planetary boundaries – and how we might conceive of alternatives to the imperatives of growth, land grabbing and relent-less activity endemic in contemporary capitalist societies. In this context, the focus will also be on works that propose systemically different ways of looking at things and thus introduce new figures of thought, as well as other political and social models into the debate.
