Vonovia Award for Photography 2022

ZUHAUSE NO. 6

Sprengel Museum Hannover, 9 November 2022 - 8 January 2023

The VONOVIA AWARD FOR PHOTOGRAPHY was held for the sixth time on the theme of HOME. Once again, it has been shown how complex the topic of HOME can be implemented photographically and how broad the international participation in the competition is. From over 300 submissions from home and abroad, the jury named four winners from a group of 33 finalists.

For the first time in the history of the VONOVIA AWARD FOR PHOTOGRAPHY, three of the four prize winners deal with the topic of HOME from a non-European perspective.

Philip Cheung won 1st prize in the category "Best Photo Series" with "Days of Destruction", David Klammer 2nd prize with "The Line // What Remained of the Water" and Takako Kido 3rd prize with "Skinship". Francesca Hummler is this year's Young Talent Award winner with the photo series "Unsere Puppenstube".

The photo competition is aimed at professional and emerging photographers and, with a total of 42,000 euros in prize money, is one of the most valuable photo prizes in Germany. Participation is free of charge.
