The Design Award of the Wüstenrot Foundation is an architecture competition that will now been awarded for the thirteenth time. Its unique selling point is the newly defined thematic focus, which reflects the current and central tasks of building in our society.
The motto of the competition, which is deliberately formulated as a question, is linked to fundamental issues of the future: How can single-family houses, both new and existing buildings, be (re)designed and adapted to the life cycle and the changing requirements of the occupants? How can this type of building respond appropriately to the challenges of our time? How can it meet demographic change, increasing environmental awareness and growing demands for energy efficiency? And how can area-sensitive design and construction succeed?
With this in mind, the thirteenth Design Award of the Wüstenrot Foundation is intended to identify exemplary single-family houses that represent a sustainable form and thus meet the high demands and standards of our time.
