Triple is funny, but double makes the money

The exhibition presents works by artists from the Residence NRW⁺ stipend programme, which has been attached to the Kunsthalle Münster since 2020. The funding programme is characterised by a strong practical orientation and creates a setting that enables the artists and curators to interact intensively and to deepen their respective practice. The group exhibition at the Kunsthalle marks the end of a year in the residency programme in Münster and in the "Hütte" that has become so beloved.

Triple is funny, but double makes the money describes a moment of reflection, of pausing and looking back, but also of departure. It offers an insight into the various artists' approaches, their working methods and their worlds of visuals and materials. With new works ranging from sculpture to installation to painting, from research-based processes to explorations of narratives and popular culture, Soya Arakawa, Olga Holzschuh, Magdalena Los and the artist duo Nicola Gördes & Stella Rossié negotiate their varied creative processes.

The exhibition with the artists of the programme is one of two projects conceptualised and curated by the two curators Lisa Klosterkötter and Alicia Reymond.
