Temporary exhibition at the Allied Museum in cooperation with the Computer Game Museum
2 October 2025 – 30 June 2026
The exhibition ColdWarGames, a cooperation between the Allied Museum and the Computer Game Museum, is all about games from and about the Cold War. In recreated living spaces from the past decades young and adult visitors can check out board games or engage with classic consoles. Playfully, they learn about historical events that shaped the development of games and discover how gaming influenced the binary logic of the Cold War. Alongside the games, numerous other exhibits invite visitors to interact.
Thematic displays provide a historical overview of the course of the Cold War, its impact on the divided German capital, and further developments after its end—up to the new millennium, which experienced a turning point on September 11, 2001. ColdWarGames offers an approachable way to learn, as it transmits knowledge in an immersive way. The exhibition not only places the Cold War in the context of democratic history, but also enables independent, democratic learning.
