MK&G messe

Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg

24 to 28 November 2021

Since 1887 the well-established MK&G messe has been an annual event held by the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg (MK&G) and its friends‘ society, the Justus Brinckmann Gesellschaft (JBG). For over 130 years, the MK&G messe has continually set new standards with its presentation of high-quality contemporary arts and crafts. In 2021, the MK&G messe will take steps towards a new impact and focus on an international orientation while simultaneously showcasing the Northern European region around Hamburg. The classic arts and crafts repertoire will be supplemented by current emphases such as Collectible Design, New Craftsmen, socially responsible projects and collaboration with manufactories.

The eleven-member jury invited 72 exhibitors from a pool of 163 applications and focuses on international participation and new trends. More than half of the participants are new to the fair and bring young interpretations and fresh perspectives on traditional crafts with a focus on jewelry and ceramics. The jury will also decide on the prestigious Justus Brinckmann award endowed with € 7.500 and the Justus Brinckmann Award for Young Talents of € 2.500  which will be granted on November 23.
