Netherlands and Flanders

Book podcast „Kopje koffie“

The Netherlands and Flanders were joint Guest of Honor at the Leipzig Book Fair in 2024. Interdisciplinary projects and participation in nationwide festivals were introduced a new generation of literary and artistic creators from the neighbouring countries to the German audience. The campaign focussed on formats that go beyond the mere presentation of books, take up current topics and cross borders. An active exchange with other disciplines such as the performing and visual arts, the creative industries and film was expected. Major Dutch, Flemish and German cultural partners were involved in the programming.

The Dutch Literature Foundation / Nederlands Letterenfonds in Amsterdam, Flanders Literature in Antwerp as well as the Dutch Embassy and the Representation of Flanders in Berlin were responsible for the realisation of the guest country appearance.

Since 2021, ARTEFAKT is responsible for the production of "Kopje Koffie. Der niederländisch-flämische Bücherpodcast" on behalf of Flanders Literature in Antwerp and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Berlin. The successful format presents current new releases of Dutch and Flemish Literature in German and their authors, having fans in almost 80 countries worldwide. The podcast also served as a prelude to the guest country appearance "Die Niederlande & Flandern auf der Leipziger Buchmesse 2024“, for which ARTEFAKT was responsible for media and social media work.
