With VERTICAL HORIZONS, the nüüd.berlin gallery opens its 2026 exhibition year with a powerful artistic statement about attitude, vulnerability and resistance. Twenty-three artists working in painting, photography, sculpture and paper art present works that make empathy and tenderness visible as political forces. The exhibition asks: What does attitude mean in times when coexistence is becoming fragile?
The exhibition is divided into three thematic areas - ‘Ver-Letzt’ (Hurt/Last), ‘Un-Orte’ (Non-Places) and ‘Trotz’ (Defiance) - and features works by Sabine Beyerle, Daniel & Geo Fuchs, Dale Grant, Tanja Selzer, Jan Prengel, Georg Meyer-Wiel and many others. The works open up spaces for compassion and make the invisible visible – the right to be different.
The opening on 8 January 2026 will feature the performance ‘UmSichtbar’ (Visible) by Leonie Vogel, which makes the theme of changing perspectives physically tangible.
VERTICAL HORIZONS is not a loud protest exhibition, but rather an appeal to humanity - to the power of the gaze that does not look away.
