ARTEFAKT Kulturkonzept accompanied the design process led by Steffi Holz with project management and editorial tasks. ARTEFAKT has been responsible for content planning and editing of the DNK's social media communication since 2021.
Monument protection and preservation are fundamental for the preservation of cultural heritage. The Deutsches Nationalkomitee für Denkmalschutz / German Cultural Heritage Committee (DNK) is dedicated to the preservation of the built environment as well as archaeological evidence. The federal institution was founded in 1973, and has since been a platform for this core task in the realm of cultural and social policy.
The new corporate design and the relaunch of the website illustrate the DNK mission in a clear, decisive and transparent approach. Silhouettes of architectural elements flow into letters and make up the DNK's new logo. The sans serif typeface "Centra" continues the geometric shapes in the word. Its pleasant, calm rhythm is suitable for a wide range of applications. In addition to the typography, the distinctive corporate color "monument green" and the clear design language create a strong recall value. More than 80 icons from a wide variety of eras in the building's history tell the lively story of "Cultural Heritage on the Move”.
In a pitch, Bureau Steffi Holz from Brandenburg convinced the jury with their design - basic forms of architecture are combined in the new logo to create a concise brand.
