Radical Playgrounds: From Competition to Collaboration

27 April to 14 July 2024, open space at Gropius Bau

In spring, for eleven weeks, international artists will transform the car park next to the Gropius Bau into "Radical Playgrounds": radical playing fields on which Florentina Holzinger, Tomás Saraceno and Céline Condorelli, among others, will create an art parcours following the motto "From Competition to Collaboration". The art parcours, curated by Joanna Warsza and Benjamin Foerster-Baldenius, explore the socially formative as well as the political potential of play.

"Radical Playgrounds" invites adults and children to events, performances, talks, guided tours and workshops and shifts the focus from competition to collaboration. In construction workshop, the parcours will evolve as a public meeting space over the course of eleven weeks. The project is being realised architecturally by raumlaborberlin.

Artists: Edgar Calel, Alice Chauchat, Céline Condorelli, Massimo Furlan, Florentina Holzinger, Ingela Ihrman, Martin Kaltwasser, Agnieszka Kurant, Joar Nango, Vitjitua Ndjiharine, The Playground Project, Tomás Saraceno, Mariana Telleria, The School of Mutants, Irad Verkron, Raul Walch
