“Media, People, Markets“
Frankfurt am Main
Right before Pentecost, Frankfurt am Main hosts the 106. Deutsche Biblibothekartag. Experts on information and education will attend about 400 events and discuss trend-setting developments in the library and information sector.
This year’s motto “media, people, markets” focuses on the user. Even though media and data are accessible any time on any device, libraries keep being frequented by users more than ever. Yet, this surprising side-effect of the digitalization is being restricted by issues concerning structural questions addressing for example necessary legal adaptations to the digital world.
The Deutscher Bibliothekartag is hosted every year (except of the year 2003 due to IFLA – The World Library and Information Congress – taking place in Germany) in May or June in alternating German cities.
