Featuring more than 120 major Expressionist works, including pieces by Alexej von Jawlensky, Käthe Kollwitz, the Brücke artists' association and Christian Rohlfs, the renowned collection of Bettina and Rolf Horn is on display in Dortmund for the first time.
In the Museum Ostwall, the works from the Horn Collection will enter into a dialogue with artworks from the museum’s own holdings and contemporary works, supplemented by pieces from the Kirchner Museum in Davos as well as photographic and archival materials. The focus is on a contemporary historical view from today’s perspective, examining the relationship between past, present and future through a decolonial lens.
