The exhibition „Horizons“ at the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin honours the thirtieth anniversary of diplomatic relations between Germany and the countries of Central Asia. Since gaining independence in 1991, the five Central Asian republics Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan have developed a partnership with Germany. Bilateral treaties were signed between Germany and the individual countries at the beginning of 1992.
30 years, five countries, one exhibition. This means: exemplary insights into a selection of current projects based on the cooperation of the last 30 years. The exhibition spotlights opportunities taken young people in the five countries of Central Asia have in exchange with Germany through bilateral and international cooperation. Everyday life and expectations of young people regarding their future are introduced as well as projects on the topics of education/language, culture, climate/society, democracy/diversity. New relationships open up ever wider horizons.
