THE WORLD TO COME

8 / 9 October 2020

With its new transdisciplinary concert experience THE WORLD TO COME, the Rundfunkchor Berlin emerges on a musical journey through a polyphonic present.

Based on Beethoven’s »Missa solemnis«, the idea of polyphony becomes a central focal point, symbolizing listening closely to each other, becoming aware of your own voice, shaping together and mutual respect.

In THE WORLD TO COME, the Rundfunkchor Berlin is joined by international artists from different musical genres and traditions: Moor Mother, Planningtorock, Colin Self, Mohammad Reza Mortazavi, as well as Birke J. Bertelsmeier among others.

Visitors will walk through the concert installation in the large hall of the Vollgutlager and individual rooms of the adjacent club SchwuZ. The individual stations will be combined in many different ways to create a remarkable concert experience.

For this event, the rules of hygiene and spacing currently in force in Berlin as set forth by the Senate will apply.

Supported by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media.
