From June 30, 2018 on the temporary bauhaus-archiv / museum für gestaltung is due to open, at Knesebeckstraße 1 – 2 in Berlin-Charlottenburg. On the occasion of the opening, the institution draws from the rich archives and looks into the history of the Bauhaus-Archiv / Museum für Gestaltung, tracing early changes of the museum’s orientation in the context of political and cultural transformations. Whilst looking back, the way into the future will be key to the activities at this location. Over the next few years the temporary bauhaus-archiv / museum für gestaltung will be a place for experimentation with presentation formats, cooperations and new content. It is an unconventional location, that will offer insights into the future and the past of the museum as well as the experience of unusual formats and stimulating events.
