Libraries essential task is to provide all users – irrespective of their income, status, age, gender or origin – with access to information, education and culture free of charge. The campaign “Network Library” sets out to give the existing digital and educative services of the libraries a stronger visibility.
The campaign „Network Library“ encourages libraries to actively learn about and identify international digital trends in order to implement news strategies locally. The website offers an event calendar, introduces relevant digital services and up to date event formats. The portal also informs about the annual library awareness week, that takes place nationwide from 24 to 31 October.
The campaign is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and support by the ekz Group and divibib. The campaign is initiated by the Federal German Library Association dbv.
